Core in the Center for Advanced Biomedical Research on the BU Medical Campus, run within the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology & Biophysics; the Glacios 2 arrived March 2024, screening opened July 2024 and the ribbon cutting was 30 October 2024. It operates a Glacios 2 (X-FEG, 12-slot autoloader, Selectris energy filter, Falcon 4i and Ceta-D cameras) for cryo-EM, cryo-ET and MicroED, with two Vitrobot Mark IVs, easiGlow units, clipping stations and a 4x RTX 4090 processing workstation. Glacios time is $28/hr internal, $75/hr external academic and $264/hr industry on weekdays.
External academic users are welcome, with remote training and data collection offered for mailed-in samples; new users email cryoem@bu.edu for an initial consultation.
