I built this site because finding cryo-EM information is harder than it should be. Facility rates hide behind login portals, job listings scatter across forty boards, and half of what is published about costs is guesswork. Everything here follows one rule: real numbers with sources, or nothing.

My own work is structural biology. During my Ph.D. in Peter Shen's lab at the University of Utah I used single-particle cryo-EM to capture the Cdc48/p97 AAA+ unfoldase in the act of pulling a substrate apart, and later resolved the series of nucleotide states it moves through. As a postdoc in Wah Chiu's lab at Stanford I work on FIB-SEM cryo-electron tomography of ageing and neurodegeneration, supported by a Parkinson's Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship and a Stanford School of Medicine Dean's Fellowship. Before that, an NIH/NCI F31 fellowship funded my doctoral work.

The consulting services on this site are the same work I publish on: processing cryo-EM and cryo-ET data, building the software environments it needs, and writing the applications that fund it. The fellowship reviews draw on applications I have written and won myself.
