Central Electron Microscopy Facility (CEMF)

CEMF is a UConn Health supported electron microscopy service facility in Farmington offering TEM and SEM imaging and sample processing. Its conventional instruments are a Hitachi H-7650 TEM and Zeiss Sigma field emission SEMs. A 100 kV Thermo Fisher Tundra cryo-TEM with an autogrid workstation and a Vitrobot Mark V, funded by an NIH grant to Wolfgang Peti, were installed in September 2023 in the CGSB building at 400 Farmington Ave, adding single particle cryo-EM for UConn Health, UConn, UMass Amherst, and Wesleyan users.
