About This Position

Lecturer in cryo-ET position open at York University of York, YORK, United Kingdom Application deadline: 03 Sep 2026 There is a permanent academic position as a Lecturer in cryo-ET open at the University of York. They are looking for someone who will lead a research program making the most of the stunning advances that are occurring in cryo-ET. It is a research and teaching post but with a strong focus on research in the early years. It is roughly equivalent to a tenure-track assistant professor position in the US. The successful candidate will be a member of the York Structural Biology Laboratory (YSBL), a research centre build around ~15 structural biology groups from the Departments of Chemistry and Biology. Our Cryo-EM facility, supported by expert technical staff (Johan Turkenburg and Sam Hart), is housed in the custom-built Dodsons Building and has an energy-filter equipped Glacios and an incoming FIB-mill. YSBL is also well equipped for crystallography and protein NMR. Beyond YSBL, the Bioscience Technology Facility houses brilliant facilities for light microscopy, mass spec, and biophysics (amongst many other things!).
