Assistant or Associate Professor in Cryo-EM
Boston University, United States
Application deadline: 01 Aug 2026
The Department of Pharmacology, Physiology & Biophysics at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine is seeking to recruit a new faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level (salary range $140,000-$150,000 for assistant professor, $175,000-$185,000 for Associate Professor) with an innovative structural biology research program.
We seek an accomplished research scientist with expertise in cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM) for elucidating the structure and function of macromolecular assemblies. Preferred areas of research include transmembrane receptor biology or chromatin remodeling complexes. The candidate should have a proven track record of innovative research and funding, along with first-author publications demonstrating expertise in the application of cryo-EM methodology. The candidate will also have a strong background in protein purification and sample preparation, experience utilizing machine learning, and a strong record of mentorship and teaching.
Boston University offers a state-of-the-art cryo-EM facility housed within the PP&B department that serves a thriving community of structural biologists. PP&B recruits excellent graduate students from several graduate programs and collaborates with a number of data-science and clinical centers within Boston University.
