About This Position
The Department of Pharmacology, Physiology & Biophysics (https://www.bumc.bu.edu/ppb/) at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine is seeking to recruit a new faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level (salary range $140,000-$150,000 for assistant professor, $175,000-$185,000 for Associate Professor) with an innovative structural biology research program. We seek an accomplished research scientist with expertise in cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM) for elucidating the structure and function of macromolecular assemblies. Preferred areas of research include transmembrane receptor biology or chromatin remodeling complexes.
The candidate should have a proven track record of innovative research and funding, along with first-author publications demonstrating expertise in the application of cryo-EM methodology. The candidate will also have a strong background in protein purification and sample preparation, experience utilizing machine learning, and a strong record of mentorship and teaching. BU offers a state-of-the-art cryo-EM facility housed within the PP&B department (https://sites.bu.edu/cryoem/) that serves a thriving community of structural biologists. PP&B recruits excellent graduate students from several graduate programs and collaborates with a number of data-science and clinical centers within BU. We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, natural or protective hairstyle, religion, sex, age, national origin, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, military service, pregnancy or pregnancy related condition, or because of marital, parental, or veteran status.
