The Electron Microscopy Core Laboratory is a broad EM core in the HSC Cores system, directed by David Belnap and based at 2500 Sorenson Molecular Biology Building, offering room-temperature and cryogenic TEM, SEM and cryo-FIB. Its cryo-capable instruments are a Titan Krios G3 with a Gatan K3 detector and energy filter (Beckman Foundation funded, installed 2017-2018 in the Crocker Science Center as the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Center for Cryo-EM), an Aquilos 2 cryo-FIB-SEM, a Vitrobot and a Leica UC7 cryo-ultramicrotome; a Tecnai 20, a JEOL JEM-1400 and a Zeiss GeminiSEM 300 round out the core. Hours are 9 to 5 Monday to Friday.
