BioKEM is the Biochemistry Department Krios Electron Microscopy Facility at CU Boulder, completed in June 2020 and fully operational in August 2020. It operates a 300 kV Titan Krios G3i with Falcon 4i and Selectris and a 200 kV Glacios with a Gatan K3 for single particle analysis, cryo-ET, and MicroED. Sample vitrification is referred to Boulder EM Services (BEMS) in the MCDB department, and the facility also serves as the imaging arm of the NIH-funded CU Boulder Center for Cryo-ET (CCET, U24GM139174), which is a separate program with its own site at ccet.colorado.edu.

Boulder Electron Microscopy Services is a Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology core facility at CU Boulder distinct from the department's BioKEM Krios facility. It operates a 300 kV Tecnai F30 and a 200 kV Tecnai F20, both used for cryo-electron tomography and cryo-TEM of vitrified biological specimens, alongside a room-temperature Tecnai T12 Spirit. The facility offers full sample preparation and imaging services to outside institutions that lack their own cryo-EM access.

The Center for Cryo-ET at CU Boulder is an NIH Common Fund cryo-ET center (U24GM139174) that prepares and images cellular samples for external users. Its own equipment page lists an Aquilos 2 cryo-FIB, a Vitrobot Mark V, a CryoSol VitroJet, a Wohlwend high pressure freezer and a Leica Thunder CLEM; imaging uses the Titan Krios (Falcon 4, Selectris) housed in the BioKEM facility and the Tecnai F30 and F20 of Boulder EM Services, which are listed under those facilities.
