About This Position

Stony Brook University's Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology is hiring a tenure-track Assistant Professor to investigate mechanistic problems in biological systems at the level of molecular structure, interactions, and dynamics, using approaches such as structural biology, single-molecule methods, or biophysics. The department has strengths in chromosome biology, transcription/translation mechanisms, and membrane biochemistry, with access to on-campus cryo-EM facilities and nearby Brookhaven National Laboratory. Candidates need a PhD or MD in biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, or a related field plus at least two years of postdoctoral experience, and must show excellence in research along with a commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
