Postdoctoral Positions in the Structural Biology of Nitrogenase University of California, Irvine, United States Application deadline: 01 Aug 2026 The Ribbe/Hu Laboratory at the University of California, Irvine (Departments of Molecular Biology & Biochemistry and Chemistry) invites applications for Postdoctoral Scholar positions. We are seeking highly motivated researchers to investigate the structure, mechanism, and assembly of nitrogenase using state-of-the-art structural biology and biochemical approaches. Successful candidates will join an interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment focused on understanding one of nature's most complex metalloenzymes. Qualifications Applicants should have: A Ph.D. in structural biology, biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, or a related field. Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, creativity, initiative, and motivation. Experience in one or more of the following areas: Cryo-electron microscopy (Cryo-EM) of proteins Anaerobic protein biochemistry Experience with metalloproteins, enzymology, or microbial physiology is preferred.
