Within the Materials & Structural Analysis Division (MSD) â Electron Microscopy business, you'll work with industry-leading electron microscopy technologies that support groundbreaking research and innovation across academia, government, life sciences, and industrial markets. Our customers rely on our solutions to accelerate scientific discovery, improve manufacturing processes, and develop the technologies of tomorrow. How will you make an impact? As the Field Service Supervisor â Electron Microscopy, you will lead a team of highly skilled Field Service Engineers responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing sophisticated electron microscopy systems across Australia and New Zealand. You will combine strong people leadership with technical expertise to deliver exceptional customer service, ensure operational excellence, and drive continuous improvement across the service organization. Working closely with customers, commercial teams, technical support, and global service functions, you will foster a high-performing team while ensuring customer satisfaction, safety, and compliance with Thermo Fisher Scientific's quality standards. What will you do? Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of Field Service Engineers to achieve outstanding customer outcomes and business objectives. Plan and coordinate field service activities, ensuring effective resource allocation and timely customer support. Drive service excellence by monitoring operational performance, productivity, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide technical guidance and escalation support for complex instrument installations, maintenance, and repair activities. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and long-term partnership. Collaborate with Sales, Applications, Technical Support, and Operations teams to deliver seamless customer experiences. Ensure compliance with company quality systems, safety requirements, and regulatory standards. Support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management activities. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives that enhance service efficiency and operational performance. Promote a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, accountability, and customer focus. Required Qualifications: Advanced Degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with at least 5 years of technical field service experience supporting complex scientific or analytical instrumentation. Degree in Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering, Physics, or another related technical discipline. Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience managing technical service teams. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Experience supporting electron microscopy or other advanced analytical or scientific instrumentation is highly desirable. Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing complex electromechanical systems. Proven ability to build strong customer relationships and deliver exceptional service outcomes. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated success in coaching, developing, and motivating technical teams to achieve high performance. Experience using service management systems, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of quality management systems, safety standards, and regulatory compliance requirements. Experience managing service performance through KPIs while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong project management and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across a global matrix organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 50% Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) with assistance and perform field-based service activities as required.
