Phd position in organellar structural biology The Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences, Gottingen, Germany Application deadline: 28 Oct 2026 A fully funded open position for a PhD student in the Hauke Hillen group located at the University Medical Center Göttingen and the Max-Planck-Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences in Göttingen, Germany. Their team studies the structure and function of molecular machineries involved in gene expression in eukaryotic cells and organelles, such as mitochondria and chloroplasts. They combine structural biology (single-particle cryo-electron microscopy, X-Ray crystallography and cryo-electron tomography) with biochemical, biophysical and cellular approaches to dissect these processes from the atomic to the organellar scale.
