CFAMM is UC Riverside's central electron microscopy laboratory, established in January 1996 with National Science Foundation support, serving organic and inorganic materials, biological tissue and minerals. Its Talos L120C, installed in January 2021, has a retractable cryo-box and a cryo-TEM holder for screening at cryogenic temperatures, alongside a Titan Themis S/TEM used for materials work.
