The UAB Cryo-Electron Microscopy Facility is a shared resource of the Institutional Research Core Program and the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center, located in Shelby Biomedical Research Building room B40. It operates a 200 kV Thermo Fisher Glacios 2 with a Falcon 4i detector and a 200 kV Talos F200C with a Direct Electron Apollo detector, plus Vitrobot and glow discharge sample preparation. Services cover negative stain and cryo-EM grid preparation, screening, single particle and tomography data collection, GPU data processing, and user training.

External academic users pay 50% above internal rates and commercial users 200% above; per the facility policy PDF, external users may not operate equipment independently except by special arrangement, so access is normally staff-assisted.
